Who is David A. Flynn?

I have been blacksmithing professionally for the past 25 years. Drawn to the placid nature of hot metal, forging has become my passion.

In 1983, I received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. In 1987, I received a Master's in Fine Arts in sculpture from the University of Arizona.

“Strike while the iron is hot.” When metal is heated to approximately 2000 degrees, it becomes almost clay-like. After some basic techniques have been learned, the student's imagination is the only limitation. The student will be encouraged to design a piece suitable to their style and skill level. At the same time, the instructor will continue to push the envelope as to the possibilities and potential outcomes of the work.

At this time I'm not taking on any new work, or private comissions. However, I might be open to consulting or designing in a limited capacity.

I live with creativity

I am a professional artist who uses blacksmithing as my primary medium to create artwork. For the past two decades, I have created custom iron and steel artwork for homes, individuals, and public art commissions in Tucson, Arizona. My passions in life are creating art and teaching. I am now sharing my enthusiasm for blacksmithing by instructing others.
